Virtual Reality Video & Projection Mapping

Seven movements is the name of a virtual reality animation and projection mapping live performance, created for the exhibition with the same name at Eigenheim Gallery Weimar.

  • Project Duration: September 2015 - November 2015
  • Project Role: Video Artist

The original video is a 2D animation in a one by two format for stereoscopic view. In 2015 the Oculus Rift development kit was the only consumer-friendly virtual reality head-mounted display on the market. Due to access challenges with Oculus Rift,  the easier and cheaper setup with a smartphone, I chose to work with the Google Cardboard for the exhibition and design the VR video for a Nexus 5 display screen.

I used similar elements for a projection to map onto a white suit during my 15-minute long dance performance.
